This month we are tackling a difficult topic, suicide, and suicide prevention. Join us as VSN staff members, Ashley Craig and Laurianne Rodriguez share their perspectives and stories of how suicide has impacted their lives. Laurianne is both a USAF veteran and a military spouse of 20 years. She will share how the families, unit personnel, leadership, and the entire installation were impacted by the suicide of an active duty member. Ashley offers a unique perspective as a surviving spouse of a post-veteran who died by suicide. It is through this heartbreak that Ashley is now a fierce advocate and certified Mental Health First Aid trainer.
The 'Our Stories' event series is intended to offer peer support, and build community.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for this event you must be the spouse or partner of an active duty service member or post-service veteran, a caregiver or divorced spouse from a veteran or active duty service member, a veteran or active duty service member.
