We all know the arts are fun, but they can also serve as a tool for healing. When you experience a traumatic event, it impacts your brain, body, and spirit, and the arts can be a valuable tool as part of an integrative approach to healing. When healing from trauma, it can be painful or even feel impossible to put words to your experiences. In these instances, art can be a powerful tool to unlock healing.
We are so excited that one of our very own VSN peer leaders, Tanya Mac is also a First Aid Arts facilitator. In this session, she will discuss an integrated approach to personal growth and healing that utilizes the arts. Participants will learn how the arts interact with trauma and the body, and walk away with some creative tools for responding to stress and trauma.
