Let's Talk About It: Taking Action is a complementary peer support discussion to the CALM: Conversations training offered monthly. CALM: Conversations provides individuals with the tools to have very important conversations about safety around and access to lethal means with an individual in their lives. By temporarily putting time and distance between a suicidal person and highly lethal means, a life may be saved.
VSN CALM trainer, Ashley Craig, will help facilitate a peer support discussion that will provide you with information and tools on supporting a loved one in crisis, as well as provide a space to share and process your thoughts and feelings around your role in suicide prevention and access to lethal means.
CALM: Conversations training is recommended but not required to attend the follow-up peer support event. Register HERE for the monthly CALM: Conversations
Eligibility: Let's Talk About it: Taking Action sessions are open to the wider military-affiliated community, and this series is offered monthly, free of charge through the Veteran Spouse Network.
Encouraged participants include the spouse or partner of an active duty service member or post-service veteran, a caregiver or divorced spouse from a veteran or active duty service member, or an active duty service member or veteran.
Eligibility varies by session, so please check our Eventbrite page to see other social clubs that may interest you.
