Objectives:The Women's Army Corps Veteran's Association (WACVA) is a nonprofit, federally chartered organization. The objectives of the Association are to promote the general welfare of those personnel who have served honorably with the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, the Women's Army Corps, or those who have served or ar serving with the United States Army, the United States Army Reserve, or the Army National Guard, the Army Nurse Corps, in hospitals or wherever the need exists; to provide publications pertaining to the members; to further general education and civic interest programs’ for the betterment of the community.
A Brief History
In January, 1946, the idea for a WAC Veterans' Association originated with the WAC Mothers' Association, WAC Veterans and members of the WAC in Chicago. In April 1946, the Chicago WAC Veterans' Association adopted a constitution and by-laws.In August 1947, the first meeting of the WAC Veterans' Association was held in Chicago for the purpose of establishing a national organization. The policies of the Chicago Chapter were adopted as those of the national organization and the first election of the national officers was held.on 11 May, 1951, the VAC Veterans' Association was incorporated under the Code of Laws in the District of Columbia. On 30 October 1984, the U.S. Congress granted a Federal Charter to the Association under the Federal Law 98-584. Today, the WAC Veterans' Association Chapters function throughout the country, carrying on the national program.
National Programs
The WACVA is the only female veterans' association chartered by Congress. Each Chapter carries out specific programs designated by the National Association with emphasis placed on:
•VA Hospital volunteer work and community service in the local, state, national and international community.•WAC Veterans support the recruitment of women for the Army.•Provide support for the U.S. Army Women's Museum at Fort Lee, VA which houses memorabilia and artifacts of the WAC.•Supports the Hospitalized Veteran's Writing Project.•Recognizes two outstanding women in the college ROTC units by presenting the Pallas Athena Award.• Scholarship given to recognize relatives of Army Service Women based upon academic achievement and leadership as expressed through co-curricular activities and community involvement. Preamble
We, the members of the Women's Army Corps Veterans' Association, humbly petition the blessing of our Heavenly Father upon all our activities, that we may grow in grace and glorify our purpose, to be of service to all veterans. We pledge allegiance to the United States of America and the members in whose name we serve. We are resolved to promote justice, tolerance, peace and good will among all men toward the end that all war may cease.

Local Chapters meet 8-10 times a year. Their meetings include raising funds for their chapter and for the National Organization. Membership at the chapter level includes a chapter newsletter.The local Chapters carry on social functions for the entertainment of their members.May is the annual celebration of the founding of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps on 14 May 1942 and the incorporation of the WAC Veterans' Association on 11 May 1951.The WAC National Convention is held each year in a different city within the United States usually in August or early September.
Eligibility:
1. Women who have served or are now serving honorably with the United States Army, the United States Army Reserve or Army National Guard of the United States, the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, or the Women's Army Corps may join as Regular Members. Women who have served or are now serving honorably with any branch of Military Service other than the army may join as Affiliate Members.
2. As of July 2015, the Dues will be:Regular Member's dues are now $50 per year; fiscal year is 1 July- 30 June. For new members joining after 1 Jan, dues to the end of the fiscal year are $25 and then $50 per fiscal year thereafter.
3. Affiliate Member’s dues are $25 per year. For new affiliate members joining after 1 Jan, dues to the end of the fiscal year are $12.50 and then $25 per fiscal year thereafter.
4. Photostat copy of discharge papers only must be collected NLT two weeks following receipt of application is accepted. These copies will not be returned.
5. All Regular Members will receive six issues of the official National publication, The Channel, per year. Associate Members do not receive The Channel. All members will receive ten monthly issues of the local publication where applicable.
