Texas A&M Health Science Center is Transforming Health through innovative research, education and service in dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, public health and medical sciences. As an independent state agency and academic unit of Texas A&M University, the health science center serves the state through campuses in Bryan-College Station, Dallas, Temple, Houston, Round Rock, Kingsville, Corpus Christi and McAllen.
In September 1997, the Texas A&M System Board of Regents approved organization of the health-related entities throughout the A&M System into one university –Texas A&M Health Science Center, which officially began operation on Sept. 1, 1999. Original academic units in the consolidation included College of Medicine, Baylor College of Dentistry, Institute of Biosciences and Technology, the then-proposed School of Public Health and School of Graduate Studies. Located on the Texas A&M University-Kingsville campus, the Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy joined TAMHSC in 2006, and the College of Nursing opened in 2008. On July 15, 2013, TAMHSC transitioned to become a unit of Texas A&M University.

Founded in 1876 as a military academy, Texas A&M University is proud of its long standing tradition with the military. Texas A&M University has served student veterans since 1919 and is a national leader in service to our students who are veterans, active duty, military dependents and survivors. We are committed to providing the best possible educational experience and service to all that attend our University and are proud to have eight Medal of Honor recipients among our Aggie Former Students. The Military Admissions Office, the Veteran Services Office, and the Veteran Resource & Support Center partner to fully support our military affiliated students.

Veteran Services Office
The Veteran Services Office (VSO) is available to help veterans and their dependents maximize their college funding at Texas A&M University. Over 2,300 students, both veterans and dependents of veterans, currently receive veterans’ educational benefits at our institution.

The Veteran Resource & Support Center (VRSC) is available to help veterans and their dependents get connected with the resources, associations, and networks of support available to them at Texas A&M University and in the local community.
