Join us for the third installment of the EmpowerEd trauma and relationships series to learn about Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and how a TBI can impact your relationship with your service member or veteran.
A TBI is a serious injury that can leave an individual with physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms. As a loved one, cultivating understanding is important, and you may have questions. What can I expect in terms of symptoms? How do I communicate with my spouse/partner? Is this the TBI, PTSD, or both, and what does that mean for recovery? How do I take care of myself, while supporting my loved one?
We are excited to welcome Dr. Roxana Delgado and her husband SFC (Ret.) Victor L. Medina, MRC, CRC US Army, co-founders of the TBI Warrior Foundation. Not only will they provide expertise from their professional roles supporting individuals with brain injuries, but they will also provide personal insight as a couple living with a TBI in their relationship.
The EmpowerEd trainings/seminars are open to the wider military-affiliated community and are offered Free of charge. Encouraged participants include the spouse or partner of an active duty service member or post-service veteran, a caregiver or divorced spouse from a veteran or active duty service member, or an active duty service member or veteran.
