As a nonprofit, we’re driven to solve tough problems for the greater good. We believe that good health is within reach of people everywhere. Our team works closely with government insurance programs to conceive of and implement improvements to address the unique population health challenges of their beneficiaries. At Altarum, we are creators and doers—we don't stop at describing problems. Our solutions are holistic, enabled by technology, and intently focused on prevention and appropriate care. From low-income children to frail elders, we help the most vulnerable in our society, those whose health is negatively impacted by social determinants.
Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Washington, D.C., we develop and implement innovative programs across the country for government health agencies and insurers, health care systems and providers, and health foundations. We specialize in improving health of populations with specific challenges, from substance use disorder to chronic conditions.
Altarum has a very strong commitment to serving the needs of our nation’s service members and veterans. (https://altarum.org/search/node/veteran) For over 30 years, Altarum and our predecessor organizations have worked to improve military and veterans health care serving such diverse clients as the TRICARE Management Activity, the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Our commitment to our nation’s current and former service members does not stop with our client-based work. Starting in 2008, we launched our $7 million Mission Projects Initiative, which includes the multiyear Veterans Community Action Teams project in Michigan. Recently, we committed to continuing the use of our own funds to benefit service members when we initiated our Veterans Transition to Community Project.
