American GI Forum - National Veterans Outreach Program

Founded in 1972 by veterans for veterans, the American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach Program (NVOP) has been recognized as a premier community-based veteran service organization for the past 47 years. Over the past four decades, NVOP has assisted more than 450,000 veterans, including those who are experiencing chronic homelessness, disabled veterans re-entering the workforce, veterans with criminal backgrounds, and veterans recently discharged from military duty.

The organization’s unique service activities include housing assistance, job placement, mental health counseling, street outreach, and economic development projects. These services have earned NVOP numerous awards from the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its current SSVF program.
