Company OverviewLegal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) is a nonprofit organization that provides free representation on civil cases to low-income people throughout North and West Texas. LANWT’s staff attorneys provides free civil legal services to income-eligible residents in 114 Texas counties from branch offices located in Abilene, Amarillo, Brownwood, Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth, Lubbock, McKinney, Midland, Odessa, Plainview, San Angelo, Waxahachie, Weatherford and Wichita Falls. The administrative office is located in Fort Worth.
General InformationLegal Aid of NorthWest Texas is funded primarily by the Legal Services Corporation and the Texas Access to Justice Foundation. Additional funding is provided by federal, state and foundation grants and through the generosity of private donors.
In partnership with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP), LANWT offers a Veterans Legal Clinic on the first Friday of every month, at 1:30 pm, at the Veterans Resource Center, 4900 Lancaster Rd., immediately south of the Dallas VA hospital. LANWT also operates a telephone intake service from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday - Friday at 888-529-5277, and conducts community intake sites at a number of locations throughout our service area.
Our staff and volunteers are committed to the delivery of effective and efficient legal services. Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas also offers significant educational opportunities and experiences for high school, college and law students, as well as retired members of our community.
