LMHA - Tropical Texas Behavioral Health

Tropical Texas Behavioral Health - Veteran Services: Services are available for veterans in Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy Counties returning from OEF or OIF in order to find coping skills and support as they adjust to a civilian life style.

Services Provided:

  • Counseling: Veterans and family counseling using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
  • Case Management: provides community resource coordination related to basic needs for Veterans and their family.
  • Peer Facilitator: information and available training through: Bring Everyone In The Zone(BEITZ).
  • Community Resources Coordination: related to basic needs (e.g., food, shelter, clothing, employment, mental health, and physical health) for veterans.

 

Peer to Peer Support Groups

Veterans helping veteran readjust to their civilian life: Dealing with topics such as:

  • Anger
  • Authority
  • Closeness
  • Decision-Making
  • Emotions and Growth
  • Intelligence
  • Loss
  • Mission Orientation

Seeking Safety Treatment

Treatment that is developed to address both trauma and substance abuse in a one to one or group setting: Some of the tops covered are:

  • PTSD
  • Substance abuse
  • Creating meaning
  • Honesty

Operation Resilient Families(ORF)
