Medical Assistance Tool (MAT)Is a non-profit that indexes each pharmaceutical company's Patient Assistance Program (a PAP is a program that offers medications at reduced cost to free, depending on income), and makes it easy to fill out an application for each medication and submit it to the correct manufacturer.

It is worth noting that an individual typically needs a valid prescription from their doctor to receive medication through a PAP. While the medication may be reduced cost/free, an individual may still need to pay for a clinic visit to receive a prescription for the PAP to fill.
