Assistance and Referral is the core program of Helping Hands. The program serves Rockwall County residents in financial crisis. Financial relief is pledged for critical needs as part of a strategic plan that is worked out between the applicant and a Helping Hands volunteer or staff member.
The assistance program provides Rockwall County residents in financial crisis with strategic financial assistance for critical needs. Assistance is available for electric, water, and gas bills as well as rent and mortgage payments. Access to our food pantry is also available for those needing assistance with food.
Helping Hands is committed to providing sufficient resources to make a significant difference for families in Rockwall County. Through the Assistance and Referral office, clients receive assistance with utilities, shelter, food, clothes, furniture and household items. Staff often works in partnership with other agencies to provide relief to clients in times of crisis.
Bilingual services are available during business hours. Clients are welcome to bring an interpreter (must be at least 18 years old).No appointment is necessary, and interviews for assistance are conducted on a first come/first served basis. Providing the required information/documents or participating in an interview is not a guarantee that assistance will be provided.
