About the Veterans 1st InitiativeAliviane, Inc. has a long history of partnering with Veteran servingorganizations in El Paso. In 2010 the Department of Veterans Affairsfunded Aliviane’s Veterans 1st Initiative in El Paso County to assisteligible Veterans and their families with locating permanent affordablehousing and comprehensive case management to provide participantsaccess to social services that assist in addressing issues and needs thatmay have led to hardships of experiencing or almost becoming homeless.About SSVFAliviane, Inc.’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) is fundedby the Department of Veteran Affairs. Along with assistance in locatingpermanent housing and comprehensive case management, the programalso helps Veterans find employment, access to VA services such asmedical, disability, and the Compensated Work Therapy program.Services also connect Veterans and their families to various publicbenefits and community-based organizations that provide educational,child care, food pantry, and general and legal assistance services.

Who We ServeVery low-income Veterans and Veteran families who:
- Household income does not exceed 50% AMI
- Veteran or member of a family, in which the head of the household, or spouse of the head of household, is a Veteran
Must meet one of the three criteria:
- Residing in permanent housing
- Homeless and scheduled to become residents of permanent housing within a specified time period
- Exiting permanent housing and seeking other housing that is responsive to low-income Veteran family’s needs and preferences
