Rural Communities & Faith-Based Partnerships - TVC Veterans Mental Health Department

The intent of the Rural Community & Faith-Based Partnership Program is to involve community & faith-based organizations in developing and implementing strategies to support the wellbeing of veterans and their families residing in the rural areas of Texas. There are 254 counties in Texas, of which 144 to 191 are considered rural, frontier, or “micropolitan”. VMHD aims to address the mounting need of services in these rural areas of Texas by engaging and involving local community & faith-based organizations.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to end Veteran Homelessness in Texas and ultimately throughout America. We believe that since our veterans fought for us, it is our turn to fight for them. We do this by providing shelter, transitional living, case management, counseling, and vocational training, along with job placement. We have brought people in from all over the state of Texas and from several other states. Our goal is to help the men and women who fought for us, have a place to push the restart button on life
