Education

The Texas Education Agency is the state agency that oversees primary and secondary public education. It is headed by the commissioner of education. The mission of TEA is to provide leadership, guidance and resources to help schools meet the educational needs of all students.

The Austin Veterans and Family Advocacy Council (AVFAC) works with the VA Mental Health Clinic to provide better community support services for veterans in the Austin Area.

Intensive work training programs for unemployed or underemployed adults.

Art Spark Texas provides programs for creative veterans, current service members, and family in areas of visual art, music, writing, and dance. Many of our programs are in Austin, TX but we are also expanding out across the state. Provides support to the families of fallen and wounded Special Operations personnel- including emergency funds and mental health providers. Provides tuition to Special Opps surviving children.

Public University in Galveston, TX. Accepts Hazlewood and GI bill.

Veterans learning and tutoring center.  Need not be a student at UTA.

Public college accepting GI Bill and Hazlewood.  Veterans Services Office helps student veterans navigate financial aid, government benefits, academic requirements, and career planning.
