The Austin Veterans and Family Advocacy Council (AVFAC) works with the VA Mental Health Clinic to provide better community support services for veterans in the Austin Area.

Veteran Association of retired enlisted personnel. Scholarships for children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren of TREA members, 

Scholarships for families or caregivers of Army veterans, active duty military, Guard and Reserve, and children of any of the above.

Six-week course providing basic business computer literacy through hands-on instruction.

Adult education in math, communication, computer, financial literacy, and reading comprehension skills.

Job search help, career training for veterans and all military

Free hunting trips for injured veterans, including PTSD. 

Private Non-Profit university, Accepts GI bill only

Public college accepting GI Bill and Hazlewood.  Veterans Services Office helps student veterans navigate financial aid, government benefits, academic requirements, and career planning. 

Provides veterans and their families the tools they need to overcome life challenges after military service through the following services:

Resources for Chaplains, for churches serving military and veterans, and direct support to surviving families

Public college accepting GI Bill and Hazlewood. Also offers short-course technical programs.  Multiple locations in Tarrant County.

Job placement assistance and forklift certification training for veterans in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Kaufman, Rockwall, and Tarrant Counties. Financial assistance available if related to work equipment.

Public University in Prarie View, accepts Hazlewood and GI bill. Extension centers in Houston

Educational programming for children, adults, and professionals connected with the military.
